Securing India's Energy Supply Chains
Global trade patterns and supply chains have been upended by US President Donald Trump’s decision to significantly raise tariffs on imports from dozens of America’s trading partners. Besides stoking up geopolitical tensions, raising fears of a global recession, and exacerbating the volatility of capital markets, how do the US moves, and counter-measures by affected countries, affect India’s overlapping objectives of stabilising clean-energy supply chains, assuring energy security, and eventually becoming a global provider of equipment and technologies essential for the energy transition?
In a special webinar organised ahead of the FT's second Energy Transition Summit India, taking place in New Delhi in September, leading experts will discuss the impact of this new protectionist environment on a range of areas, including the supply of critical minerals India needs to scale up renewable energy infrastructure; the expanded oil & gas imports New Delhi requires for national energy security; and India’s bid to boost domestic manufacturing of solar cells and modules and other key materials related to the energy transition.
